Multiple OS
How many server Operating Systems will you be able to select from?
An Operating System is the fundamental software that manages a PC. It controls the way the hardware behaves, the communication with peripherals such as a monitor, a printer or a keyboard, the allocation of memory between applications, as well as the prioritization of applications if several run at the same time. Every program which is installed on a desktop or a laptop functions by sending requests to the OS for different services by using an application program interface (API). The contact with the OS can be performed via a Graphical User Interface (GUI) or a command line. In the hosting world, the OS is what runs a server as well as all of the software installed on it, which includes not only website scripts, but also every other application for example a VOIP or a game server. If there are virtual machines created, they use a guest OS that is run on the server host OS.

Multiple OS in VPS Servers
We offer as many as three different Linux releases for the Operating System of our
VPS servers - Debian, CentOS and Ubuntu. These are among the safest and the most reliable OSs available on the market and we supply all three of them rather than just one as we realize that you might want to install some software with specific requirements with regards to the Operating System it shall run on. The latter is due to the fact that each of the three Operating Systems has a vast support community behind it and there are different software applications you may install on the server. Your OS selection will also determine exactly what hosting Control Panel can be installed on the VPS in case you want to use one and because of this we offer several Control Panels as well. Should you decide that you want another OS, our technical support can quickly wipe the current one and set up the one that you need. In addition, we offer an optional service to keep the OS on your VPS updated weekly.

Multiple OS in Dedicated Servers
We offer three Operating Systems with our
dedicated server packages - CentOS, Ubuntu and Debian. They are all different Linux distributions and we offer them not only because they're free so they will not increase the cost of your new server, but also because they are very stable and secure. Each one of them is backed up by a vast community of developers, so you'll be able to choose from thousands of software packages that you can install on your server in case the application that you want to work with has certain requirements. The Operating System will also determine what hosting Control Panel you can use since the Control Panels that we offer run on specific OSs only and since we want to give you as much versatility as possible, we offer several OSs and multiple Control Panels. In case you get a server with a certain Operating System, we will change it upon request if it turns out that you will need another one. We will also keep the OS updated on a weekly basis as a part of our useful Managed Services upgrade.
