In case you host multiple sites within the very same account and one of them gets hacked, it is very likely that all of them will get hacked afterwards. There're different reasons why this may happen, the two most common are: using really weak passwords or using out-of-date scripts with well-known weaknesses. That way, a single compromised Internet site can do lots of damage to all your Internet sites, because getting access to one script often allows hackers to access the Internet hosting account. This is the reason why we have introduced an outstanding security option named JailHost. Once activated, this option will literally lock a site within its folder, so if an attacker takes over it, all the other sites in the account will be hidden. Thus they'll be shielded from further intrusion. The JailHost option does not mean that you should not keep your sites up-to-date, but it will significantly minimize the damage.
JailHost in Website Hosting
In case you host your sites within a website hosting account from our firm, you could protect them by using the JailHost option with just a few mouse clicks in your Hepsia Control Panel. The option is accessible with all packages and can be enabled for any folder because the domains and subdomains in Hepsia have individual folders, so files for many different sites do not get mixed up like it often happens with other Control Panels. We haven't activated JailHost by default as you could use scripts that require access to folders outside the primary site folder and this option could interfere with their proper functioning, but securing all other folders is really easy. In case a secured Internet site gets hacked for whatever reason, we'll be able to restore it in a short time since we'll have multiple daily backup copies of your entire account and you will even be able to browse the available backups in Hepsia.
JailHost in Semi-dedicated Servers
Our semi-dedicated server packages come with JailHost integrated by default. The option is not activated automatically when you add a domain because you may need to use a script which accesses several folders in the account, but you will be able to activate it without difficulty via your Hepsia Control Panel and protect the rest of your Internet sites with just a couple of clicks. Hepsia is much better to use for people who have multiple sites because it keeps them in individual folders and doesn't keep the files for several websites in the same folder as it often happens with other Control Panels. This enables us to offer you JailHost as all folders can be isolated from one another. In case that any one of your sites gets hacked, we will be able to almost instantly restore it thanks to the multiple daily backup copies that we will keep and in the mean time your attacker won't be able to do further damage because the access to your other sites will be cut off.
