A catch-all e-mailbox is one that captures all the emails sent to nonexistent email addresses. For instance, if your address is info@domain.com, but somebody miswrites it and sends an email message to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have set up. Just one mailbox per domain can have this feature enabled and thus you will never miss emails because the other side has an obsolete address or has made a spelling error. The downside of creating a catch-all mailbox is that you may begin receiving a lot of spam emails, but this problem can be fixed by using anti-spam protection software. It’s also essential to know that a mailbox with an activated catch-all feature cannot forward incoming messages to a 3rd-party email address.
Catch-all Emails in Website Hosting
In case you have a website hosting with us and you would like to enable the catch-all feature for a specific email mailbox that you’ve got in your hosting account, it will take literally just one single mouse click in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia Control Panel to do this. A catch-all button is available to the right of each email address that you have created under any domain name hosted in your account. You can pick one single email address per domain name by clicking on the respective button. This will enable the feature instantly, so all emails sent to miswritten email addresses will be received there. Clicking the button once again will disable the catch-all feature. In case you’ve got enabled email forwarding, our system will display a cautionary notice and you will not be able to enable the catch-all feature till you delete the forwarding or you can simply select another mailbox to be the catch-all one.
Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers
The custom Hepsia Control Panel that comes with each semi-dedicated server package that we are offering will allow you to configure a catch-all mailbox without effort even in case you do not have much email/web hosting experience. All it takes to accomplish that is to click the catch-all icon, which will be to the right of each mailbox that you’ve created using your domain names in the Email Manager section of the Control Panel. As you can have only one mailbox with this feature per domain, our system will inform you if you have already set up another catch-all mailbox or if the one that you want to use has email forwarding enabled. If you reach the decision that you do not need this feature any longer, you can deactivate it by clicking again on the exact same icon. The Email Manager section will also permit you to view your catch-all mailboxes at a glance.
