Remote code execution (RCE)

By | February 9, 2017

Remote code execution (RCE) is the power an attacker has to access another person’s computing machine and make modifications, irrespective of the place the system is geographically situated.

Vulnerabilities can present an attacker with the flexibility to execute malicious code and take full management of an affected system with the privileges of the person operating the appliance. After getting access to the system, attackers will typically try to elevate their privileges.

One of the simplest ways to guard a pc from a remote code execution vulnerability is to update holes that enable an attacker to gain entry. Microsoft typically releases security upgrades and patches addressing remote code execution vulnerabilities on the Patch Tuesday of each month .
