As a Linux User, it’s easy to make a stunning desktop. Today we have something for you to make your website more stunning than before. Just like the title said, we will change your static boring desktop into a moving wallpaper or simply we can call that Live Wallpaper.

LiveWallpaper, is a software that will replace your standard desktop background with an animated background that powered with OpenGL. LiveWallpaper is not the only that can change your desktop background, but this one is the best I found on the net. The best thing about LiveWallpaper is fully open source.

LiveWallpaper comes with different themes, here is some of the themes:

  • Nexus – Moving Colored Particles around the screen.
  • Noise – Bokeh Design just like iOS dynamic wallpaper.
  • Galaxy – Spinning galaxy on the screen.
  • Circles – Clock inspired by Ubuntu Phone.
  • and more..

To install LiveWallpaper, you need to add the official PPA to your software sources.

The Fastest way to do this is using the terminal like this:

$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:fyrmir/livewallpaper-daily
$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install livewallpaper

Once the main program is installed, you must install the indicator applet. With this applet you can easily turn on/off live wallpaper. To install this applet you can run these following command:

Now everything is completed, you can check LiveWallpaper on your Unity Dash.
