What is Brackets ?, Brackets is a lightweight, powerful text editor, focused on visual tools and preprocessor support that make it easy to design in the browser. With the visual tools you can get the right amount of help when you want it. There is also Extract for Brackets extension that allows you to pull out design information from a PSD files, including, colors, gradients, fonts, and measurement the information as clean and minimal as possible.

You can also extract layers as images, use information from the PSD to define preprocessor variables, and easily get dimensions between objects. All in the context of your code.

Features for Brackets

There are three main features of brackets :

  • Live Preview, This features allows you to get a real-time connection to your browser and you’ll see instant changes on your screen to every CSS and HTML code you changed.
  • Inline Editors, Instead of jumping between file tabs, Brackets lets you open a window into the code you care about most.
  • Preprocessor Support, Brackets support Quick Edit and Live Highlight to your LESS and SCSS files.

How to Install Brackets

To install Brackets you need to download the official package file from GitHub repository. For Ubuntu or Debian based distribution there is a deb file, but for other Distribution you can download the source code and compile it on your own. Download it Here:
